The Ant Plant also known as the 'maze plant' gets its common names from it's Caudex, or swollen trunk. In it's native habitat this plant lives in symbiosis with native ants, it provides them with a home in exchange for nutrients and protection from pests and predators. This phenomenon is only common in the wild; this plant does not attract ants!
This plant loves high humidity, especially places where it can draw water from the air. It grows best when watered regularly. It is happiest with indirect bright light but can tolerate lower lighting if that is all that's available.
